On the 9th September 2018 one of our PICS directors  will be running the Great North Run for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.

Dr Andrew Parkin said ‘the liver charity has been great, they support families that are going through what we are experiencing right from the start, they provide invaluable information about the liver diseases and most importantly they fund new research to hopefully one day find a cure’.

Update 3rd October 2018.  Due to developing a painful knee injury, Dr Parkin had to pull out of the run 2 weeks before North Run day, but his daughter and son in law did complete the run in just over 2 hours 20 minutes.  He did cheer the runners on at the 4 mile marker and saw the great Mo Farah flash past!

Dr Parkin thanked PICS  for their generous support and raised a total of £7052 for research for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
