PICS has recently been selected as the provider of four different practices and our vision is to employ salaried GPs to offer continuity for our patients. 

At PICS we champion and support our GPs and Primary Care Networks and we form pathways between primary, secondary, social and community care. Our four practices are an essential part of our company. Dr Kelvin Lim, Medical Director of PICS and practicing GP, says: “General Practices are one of the Four Pillars of PICS and we are looking for outstanding GPs who can contribute to the outstanding patient care we strive to provide to our communities. We have opportunities for caring GPs to join our multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for someone who has a can do attitude and has a collaborative approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • First Medical Degree – either MB or MBBS, plus one foundation year as a Medical Practitioner
  • GP Specialist training
  • GMC registration
  • Royal College of General Practitioners membership

2. Administrative Assistant – Pain Pathway, PICS 

SALARY: Agenda for Change Band 2 (£18,005 – £19,337 pro rata)

3. First Contact Physiotherapist – Newark Primary Care Network and Sherwood Primary Care Network 

SALARY: Agenda for Change – Band 7 (£38,890 – £44,503 per annum)  

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week – applications for full time and part time considered   

LOCATION: 1 post x Newark Primary Care Network, 2 posts x Sherwood Primary Care Network 

CONTRACT: Permanent

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work as an autonomous specialist MSK practitioner in providing and delivering musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessments and treatment plans
  • To act independently to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients, including those presenting with complex conditions, to determine their need for further MSK or non-MSK intervention. This should involve an understanding of when to refer to other services such as diagnostics, pathology, T&O, medication reviews, pain management, rheumatology, community physiotherapy and injection therapy
  • Write contemporaneous clinical notes using SystmOne, Arden’s Templates and provide advice and support with additional electronic software (eg. PhysioTec, AccuRx etc) in line with professional standards

 KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  •  BSc or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Minimum of three years musculoskeletal experience

4. Clinical Pharmacist – Arrow Health Primary Care Network

  • General Pharmaceutical Council professional registration
  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy

  • The role will provide a Specialist / Advanced Paramedic resource for health care professionals and service users, working in collaboration with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team.
  • To work within the community, as an autonomous, accountable, Specialist / Advanced Paramedic, in the provision of a holistic approach for individuals including assessment, management and treatment, to deliver high quality patient services.
  • To assess, manage, treat, refer and/or signpost patients/service users who at-tend surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed condition relating to minor illness or minor injury.
  • The post holder will use advanced clinical skills to provide education to service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.

7. PCN Paramedic – Newark Primary Care Network

  • The role is for a Paramedic to support primary care as part of an acute home visiting team that operates during the working day, Monday to Friday.
  • The clinician will work as part of the Acute Home Visiting team but with close collaborative working with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team and support from GPs.
  • To work within the community, as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic.

To help you excel within the role, we will develop your skills and knowledge in staff supervision through practical experience and support from a network of enthusiastic and helpful seniors and managers within the services.

You must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and enjoy a challenge. An empathetic approach, flexible working times, good communication and an ability to problem solve are key to achieving the excellent standards of the service we strive for.
